This is not an offical website!

For 43 years US-Soldiers and their families lived in the large military complex up in the Rhoen-Mountains in northern Bavaria. During this time of the "Cold War" many Americans and Germans became friends, many women became wives of American citizens and left their homes to follow their husbands to the United States.

The American presence here in our area is not forgotten. To keep the memory of this period of time alive, I created this website.

Thank you, our American friends, for all you did for us and may God bless you and your families in the future.

www.camp-wildflecken.de is intended to inform everybody, who is interested about what has happened up on those hills, above the village of Wildflecken in the past and what happens there today. This website is non-commercial and everybody working for it does it without any pay.
